3G Google Nexus 7 to be in the works
The Google Nexus 7 has been one of the most popular tablets lately, though it lacks something very important – 3G support. It was quite clear that the Nexus 7 won’t feature 3G, considering it’s very low price, though it’s now rumored that Google is going to release a new, more expensive, model.
According to Paul O’Brien, the 3G Google Nexus 7 is already in the works and it will be identical to the current version. It’s release date should be in about six weeks, which isn’t such a long wait, though current customers might be really disappointed for the fact that Google didn’t release it in the first place.
The source is known as very reliable and has already released a number of accurate rumors, though it still doesn’t make it 100% sure.
Unfortunately current Google Nexus 7 users are dependent on WiFi networks, so the tablet’s portability is not what it should be. Hopefully the rumor proves to be true and we will soon see a 3G Google Nexus 7. This will probably boost sales even more, as some customers definitely chose not to go for this tablet due to the lack of 3G connectivity.
The 3G Nexus 7 should come with a price tag of $220 to $230, considering that a 3G chip costs less than $10. So if we add manufacturing costs, it shouldn’t increase the tablet’s price very much.
