Alcatel One Touch Idol X Introduced MWC 2013: 1080p 5.0-inch Display, 7.1 mm Thin and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Even though so far Alcatel didn’t penetrate the high-end Android smartphone segment, the French-based phone maker is trying to make attract the public looking for a high-end smartphone with the new One Touch Idol X.
Coming with a 5-inch full HD display and a body with a bold design. Alcatel One Touch Idol X will be available in a variety of body colors, in a way similar to the recent Windows Phone 8 smartphones released by HTC and Nokia. Alcatel One Touch Idol X also comes with a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, and full HD video recording support.
Still, while the official press statement released by Alcatel at Mobile World Congress 2013 mentions that the Alcatel One Touch Idol X’s camera has a 13 megapixel sensor, I can’t help but notice that in the official press photo there’s an 8 megapixel mentioning next to the smartphone’s camera. According to the Alcatel officials at MWC, the camera will vary depending on the market it will go on sale.
Alcatel One Touch Idol X features an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 16 GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The new high-end smartphone manufactured by the French-based company runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Anyway the most impressive aspect of the Alcatel One Touch Idol X is its case which is only 7.1 mm thin, making it one of the slimmest smartphones currently on the market. Even though we are dealing with a super-thin smartphone, Alcatel fitted a 2,000 mAh battery thus the terminal’s autonomy shouldn’t be a problem.
The press release doesn’t reveal any information about LTE connectivity. Even though the new smartphone might not hit the US market, we are appreciating the edge-to-edge display of the One Touch Idol X.
According to the information so far, the new One Touch Idol X smartphone will hit the stores shelves as of July, with a price tag that is yet unknown.
