All 200k Xiaomi M2S Units in Stock Sold out in 45 Seconds

Xiaomi-M2S

I don’t know how many of you guys heard about the Chinese mobile company Xiaomi, but it managed to achieve a record in terms of sold units. The company sold no less than 200,000 M2S units in just 45 seconds, according to online publication gizchina.com. And no, this is not a joke.

The Xiaomi M2S smartphone has some interesting technical specifications and could easily be appealing to western customers. The devices packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and a 4.3-inch display with a 720p resolution. The handset comes it two models, so have the 16 GB version that includes an 8 MP camera, and the 32 GB variant which boast an upgraded 13 MP camera. If we are to believe the Chinese manufacturer, the Xiaomi M2S is actually faster than the Samsung Galaxy S4 (Snapdragon 600 version).

The company claims that the smartphone has obtain a score of 25,912 in an AnTuTu benchmark test, which is a little better than the Galaxy S4, which scored 25,446. We don’t know whether this is just marketing or the M2S actually obtained the mentioned score, but the statement is pretty credible considering that the Xiaomi handset has a display with a lower resolution.

The Xiaomi M2S does sport some impressive specs, and we further add the fact that it comes with an affordable price, there is no wonder that it’s so popular. The 16 GB variant of the smartphone is sold for 1999 Yuan ($323.45 USD), while the 32 GB model can be purchase for 2299 Yuan ($372.25 USD).

The handset does seem to bring the whole package and I don’t know if the pone maker will be able to keep up with the high demand. However, if we think about it 200,000 sold units is not that impressive considering the population of China. More amazing is that all the devices have been sold in under a minute.

The sad part is that, even though Xiaomi hasn’t offered any details about the matter, chances that the M2S will be sold in North America or Europe are pretty small. However, I have to ask, would you be interesting in the Xiaomi M2S if you could buy it?

I would definitely be interested in such a phone should it reach the American market. Chinese companies are actually starting to make a name for themselves not only in their domestic country, but in America and Europe as well. If this phone really does have all of the listed specifications, and the $370 price tag, then it would definitely be a great buy, especially for those with some kind of a budget.
