It’s not the first time we hear about the mini version of the HTC One, codenamed HTC M4, but now it seems that the folks at Phone Arena got their hands on what it seems to be a photo of the yet unannounced smartphone. The HTC M4 photo leaked courtesy of @evleaks, one of the most credible sources of leaked information about unreleased products.
As you can see in the picture above, HTC M4 will have a design that is a reminiscent of the HTC One flagship, standing out with the same aluminium case, white frame around the edges or a pair of front speakers. Of course, there are a couple of differences between HTC M4 and HTC One like the position of the camera and the LED flash.
If you remember the HTC One was codenamed M7, thus it’s obvious that M4 is related to the flagship handset. Here’s a better comparison: HTC M4 is for HTC One what the Galaxy S3 Mini is for the Galaxy S3.
According to the latest rumors, HTC M4 will sport a 4.3-inch display with 720p resolution, a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.5 GHz (most likely the Snapdragon S4), 2 GB of RAm, 16 GB of internal storage and a battery with a capacity of 1,700 mAh.
The specifications regarding the HTC M4’s camera are somewhat unclear: there are reports saying that the smartphone will get a BSI sensor with a resolution of 13 megapixels, while other sources claim that the terminal will boast the same 4 megapixel UltraPixe sensor as the HTC One.
Rumor has it that the HTC M4 release date was set for late Q2 2013. It seems that the HTC M4 will also have an LTE variant and that it will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
