Alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Specifications and Retail Packaging Surface Online

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4 series has proved to be amazingly popular in a number of Asian markets such as China and India. Just a few days back, alleged specifications of the Redmi Note 5 had leaked on the web. Today, alleged specs, as well as an image showing the retail packaging for the Note 5A, have hit the web. The Redmi Note 5A is expected to be a slightly less impressive version of the Redmi Note 5A. While it won’t be as impressive as the Redmi Note 5 in the hardware department, it will be more affordable.

According to today’s leak, the Redmi Note 5A will feature a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution and run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 14nm octa-core SoC. The display, as well as the chipset, are identical to the Redmi Note 4 variant that is sold in India. In the memory department, Redmi Note 5A will apparently come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in memory. Going by the Redmi Note 4, it does seem likely that the Redmi Note 5A will feature Hybrid Dual SIM card slots, so you should be able to add a microSD card for further expansion.

Moving on to imaging, the Redmi Note 5A is said to come with a dual-camera setup at the back. There will be two OmniVision sensors at the rear – a 12MP OV12A10 and a 13MP OV13880 sensor. For selfies, the Redmi Note 5A will include a 5MP resolution Samsung S5K5E8 sensor on the front.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is rumored to sport a similar 5.5” 1080p resolution display as the Redmi Note 5A but could be powered by a newer Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 chipset under the hood. Things won’t be very different in the memory department either, as the Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. At the back, the smartphone will have a 16MP Sony IMX234 sensor paired with an f/2.0 aperture lens and phase detection autofocus technology. On the front will be a 13MP selfie snapper. Keeping the lights on will be a 3790mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
