Numerous Galaxy Note 2 owners reported today that the OTA Update is ready for download and it should take only a couple of minutes for the updating process to complete. The confirmation for comes from SamMobile.

Connect your Galaxy Note 2 phone with your PC and run the Samsung KIES to check for a new variant of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware. After several months it has received the update to Android 4.1.2, while this new update keeps the device at 4.1.2 but it brings several new tweaks that should keep you ‘warm’ until the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will be finally available.

With the new OS you should experience better battery life and you might also find some features and functions that were launched with the Samsung Galaxy S4 device earlier this year. If you didn’t receive the update for your phone, remember to use Samsung KIES or the System Updates menu and check for new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean files.

The updating process will take only several minutes and you won’y lose any data in the process. Note that this updat eis available only for 100% stock smartphones. If your device is rooted, then you might not be able to upgrade the usual way. So, did Samsung release the Android 4.1.2 JB Stability Update for your Galaxy Note 2?

I received an update to the Samsung push service a couple of days ago via the play store, yesterday (18th) the symbol that an update was available got me very excited only to find virtually no visible difference! I was really hoping for a new version… Maybe the apps are now compatible with s4 apps such as group play? Will test tonight but from what I see the icon is still the same for that at least.

Edit: after checking version numbers it appears to be a new radio and kernel.
