Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos devices has received the official Android 4.2.2 OTA Update in over 13 new countries across the world. Until now, this update was only pushed out for devices Grand Duos Galaxy devices in Russia.
If you own a Galaxy Grand Duos and you live in Switzerland, Hungary, Turkey, Algeria, Kenya, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam or Malaysia, then you should keep an eye on your smartphone for the OTA notification. Alternatively, you can choose to open Settings, then use the Software Updates menu to check for new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update files.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has been announced in December 2012 and released in January 2013 with Android 4.1.2, which makes this 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade a major release. The new Jelly Bean 4.2.2 version brings Quick Settings toggles to your phone’s notification bar, better and more stable UI performance, Daydram, new lockscreen widgets and settings along with tons of other tweaks.
Galaxy Grand Duos devices packs a 5.0 inches 480×800 display, 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage with support for external microSD up to 64GB, 8MP back-facing camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a secondary 2MP camera and a 2100 mAh removable battery.
The new update files measure around 490 MB and you should use a Wi-Fi connection in order to download the new files. This Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update for Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 is available via OTA (over-the-air) and through Samsung KIES. At the moment there are only 14 countries where this update is available, but more others should join soon.
