With Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A specs released today, Samsung has also pushed out the device’s official I9506XXUAMHD firmware update through their KIES Server or direct download. This smartphone hasn’t even been officially presented to European markets, but it is now demoed at IFA Berlin 2013 event.
The Samsung KIES software server now holds the XXUAMHD firmware update for the Galaxy S4 LTE-A Internationl variant. Do not try to connect your other Galaxy S4 variant to KIES as there aren’t any other firmware updates available. This is an official firmware and it is based on Android 4.2.2. United Kingdom’s EE carrier is the first to receive this update for LTE-A S4 phone. As you well know such firmware releases can be easily flashed on Samsung phones using ODIN tool, but you are strongly advised not to try to flash this build on any other different Galaxy S4 variant as you will end up bricking it.
We don’t know for sure if there are any major changes added to this release. However, developers of custom ROMs for Galaxy S4 LTE-A can start working on this release and release new builds for users who want to experience AOSP Android 4.2.2 without the TouchWiz and carrier bloatware that are packed by default.
The news comes straight from SamMobile. The new Android 4.2.2 I9506 XXUAMHD Jelly Bean firmware version can be downloaded from here. Use this file only with the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A model number I9506. It can be flashed using ODIN and Samsung’s Download Mode, but make sure that before you start the installation your computer has the official Samsung USB Drivers installed on your PC.
