Keep an eye on your HTC One as the update might arrive sooner than you think no matter where you’re currently living.
Android 4.3 Update arrives just in time for this particular device, as Google is already planning on launching the next Android 4.4 KitKat in October for Nexus devices. This means that One users can hope that HTC will push KitKat to their devices by the end of this year or early 2014.
The HTC One was launched earlier this year and almost half a year later users can finally update the latest Jelly Bean build. The new software update has the build version set to 3.18.709.2 and it measures 512.22 MB. Note that these numbers are coming from Taiwan as the update size might differ from one country to another.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OTA Update for HTC One adds tweaks for camera color contrasts in low light situations, support for adding new soundtracks to Video Highlights, battery charging animation in power-off state, improved Sense UI and more other performance enhancements that should allow you to experience one of the best ever released Android operating system build. Also, it should solve all the fragmentation issues that users were complaining after the update to Android 4.2.2.
Check the Software Update menu and see if the update is available for download or wait for the OTA Notification to be sent to your phone. If you’re based in Taiwan and you didn’t receive the update, then you will most probably get it today or in the next few days. The rest of the world should receive the HTC One update to Android 4.3 in the coming weeks.
The Dev edition of HTC One should get the official update to Android 4.3 this week.
If you got the update and installed it on your device, then you might want to tell us in comments if the HTC One performance is better on Android 4.3 than it was when running the Android 4.2.2 build.
