Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Official OTA Update has been already pushed out in several European regions, while the UK was left behind. However, that is no longer correct, starting today the HTC One devices based in United Kingdom can be updated to official Android 4.3 Over-The-Air. Check your device’s notification screen for the availability alert and click once if you want to update it to the latest firmware version.
Besides the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version you will also get the latest Sense 5.5 update. HTC One will from now on be able to support OpenGL ES 3.0, tweaked BlinkFeed, better Video Highlights interface and tons of other improvements. BlinkFeed is now supporting Google+ and RSS feeds, but now you will also be able to disable it completely.
The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware version 3.62.401.1 update is the same that was already released for HTC One devices is other parts of Europe. HTC UK will send the OTA notification to your device or you can search for a new update version by going through Settings, then More and open About Device. Here you need to use the Software Update section to check for new firmware versions. Note that this roll out comes in phases and you shouldn’t panic in case the update doesn’t come today for your HTC One device.
Only the HTC One models that are on stock Android will get the update. In case your phone is currently running on a custom ROM or it has suffered any major customization, then it will not receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OTA Update alert.
