About two months ago an HTC representative said that the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One owners based in US will be rolled out by the end of September. Well, better late than never, as the new firmware update has been made available for download for the Sprint HTC One units.
HTC America president Jason Mackenzie tweeted earlier today that the US carrier begun the Android 4.3 roll out for HTC One. The firmware update will bump the HTC flagship smartphone from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3 which, for the time being, is the latest Android version.
Even though the roll out begins as of today not all the users will receive the update in the same time. Anyway if you don’t receive the system update notification you can also check for it manually by heading to Settings > About Phone > Software Update and hit the check for updates button.
The Sprint update will change the build number to 3.04.651.2 while bringing minor updates like HTC Sense stability improvements, updates for Sprint Zone and Visual Voicemail apps, and fixes for the bug where Swype does not automatically enter spaces in Exchange email.
According to HTC’s official Twitter account the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One units sold through AT&T and T-Mobile will become available mid-October, while Verizon will push it by the end of the month.
In case you aren’t aware of HTC One’s specs I remind you that the Taiwanese handset comes with a 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display, Snapdragon 600 SoC (quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU), 2 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of storage, and a 4 MP UltraPixel camera with optical image stabilization and full HD video recording.
