A representative of the Taiwan-based phone maker announced last week that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the HTC One flagship will be available for download by the end of the month. After Samsung announced that the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 models will be updated to Android 4.3 this month, now it’s time for HTC to release the latest Android version for its high-end terminals.
While Google already announced the name of the next Android iteration (KitKat 4.4), most of the terminals on the market are currently running Android 4.1 or Android 4.2, but it looks like the big players of the smartphone market are making efforts to have their models running on the latest Android versions.
HTC actually announced that the Android 4.3 update for HTC One will be released in September a couple of weeks ago, but a further confirmation came last Monday when HTC USA’s Jason Mackenzie confirmed on Twitter that nothing has changed to the update schedule.
We hope that HTC will keep their promise and release the Android 4.3 update on the One models by the end of the month. Before the Android 4.2.2 update was rolled out for HTC One there where some rumors saying that the flagship will skip Jelly Bean 4.2 and get the Android 4.3 update, but it’s not the case any more.
We are also eager to see whether the Android 4.3 update will bring an update for Sense 5, especially that the HTC One Max is expected to see the light of day with HTC Sense 5.0 on board.
In case you aren’t familiar with HTC One’s specs, hear that the smartphone boasts about a 4.7-inch full HD Super LCD3 display, a Snapdragon 600 Soc with quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of storeage, and a 4 MP UltraPixel Camera.
