LG has just update their latest flagship device and now they started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to the LG Optimus G Pro in Korea. Unfortunately the update isn’t international yet, but we expect the Korean maker to release it for the rest of the users very soon.
The LG Optimus G Pro is one of the best phablets on the market and is available internationally, while in the US you can only get it at AT&T or unlocked.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat comes with a lot of new features, along with speed improvements and some other enhancements. The update is being pushed over the air (OTA) and it should reach all users in the next 24 hours.
Some of the features in Android 4.4.2 KitKat include a new full-screen mode, unified Hangouts messaging, wireless printing, location settings, default apps, and more.
LG Optimus G Pro Android 4.4.2 KitKat Features
First of all, LG Optimus G Pro users will notice an increase in speed, because KitKat is much faster than Jelly Bean.
The new location settings allows the user to enable or disable specific location features in order to save battery. The feature also shows you how much battery does each feature use, which is really useful.
The new Hangouts app can replace the stock messaging app, so you can now also send and receive SMS and MMS with it, along with the video calls, file transfer and instant messaging. If you’ve been using Hangouts already, then you should activate it for SMS messaging, because it’s much better to use just an app for everything.
We expect the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to reach all LG Optimus G Pro users in the next weeks. We will let you know once it does, so you can install it on your device.
