According to the latest reports the US carrier variants of the HTC One will get updated to Android 4.4.2 sometime next month. Or at least that’s what @LlabTooFer’s latest tweets are suggesting.
I remind you that the HTC One Google Play Edition was already updated to Android 4.4.2, and more than a month ago, the Android 4.4 rolled out for the unlocked and Developer Edition HTC Ones in US, also bringing Sense 5.5.
The Taiwan-based phone maker will release the HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update for the US carrier versions of the smartphone in January, including the Verizon-branded model, which got updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean earlier this week. The even better news is that the new software update will bring Sense 5.5 to the US variants of the HTC One. Furthermore, HTC’s Director of Product Management, Mo Versi, revealed that the US update will actually bring Android 4.4.2 to HTC One, which, at the moment, is the latest Android version.
But the good news don’t stop here. @LlabTooFer also revealed that the Android 4.4.2 will also be released for the European models of the HTC One and that the Taiwanese company is currently working on Android 4.4.2 with a new Sense version, which will allegedly debut on the HTC One follow-up, condenamed M8.
As a reminder, the HTC One boasts about a 180p 4.7-inch Super LCD3 display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection, quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 4 MP UltraPixel camera with OIS and 1080p@30fps video recording, 2 GB RAM, 32/64 GB internal storage, and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone, including all standards of WiFi, LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0.
