A new HTC One M7 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now being pushed to Sprint users. The new firmware updates your device with the highly-anticipated Sense 6 user interface that debuted earlier this year on HTC’s flagship smartphone for 2014.

Because all the KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status bar, white status bar iconography, cloud printing, color emoji support, immersive mode, or full screen album art in the lock screen have been patched in the previous Android 4.4.2 update for Sprint HTC One M7, the new firmware concentrates on upgrading the handset’s user interface to Sense 6.

Besides the UI tweaks brought by Sense 6, the new software also arrives with updated BlinkFeed, updated Camera Gallery app, and updated TV app. Of course you should also notice improved stability and less bugs.

Just like any other software update, the Android 4.4.2 update for Sprint HTC One M7 is being pushed to users in stages, which means that some of them might not be able to install it on their deices right away.

As you may know, once the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is ready for your Sprint HTC One M7 you should receive a system update message in the notification area. All you need to do is tap on it, choose download, wait for the update file to finish download, then press install.

You can also check for the new software under Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now. It’s also worth mentioning that the new update is labeled 5.03.651.3 and that it’s recommended to use a stable WiFi connection to avoid data charges. Sprint also recommends to have your phone charged over 50% while trying to install the new software.

Have you received the new Android 4.4.2 OTA update on your Sprint HTC One M7? Have you spotted any changes besides the ones mentioned above? Please let your fellow Sprint HTC One owners know in the comments section.

Mine was updated overnight. Im sorry but all these new features are somewhat overshadowed by the awful awful colour coding of apps. My Blink feed has turned a vile green. Can someone tell me how to turn this off?

    • Andrew

Go to Settings ->Personalize ->Theme and change it to the black theme which was the default before the update. Everything goes back to the nice dark grey/ black theme without all the bright colors.

I didn’t see any black theme that changes the colors back… I also hate the vile green

Colours can be changed as stated by Andrew, I think is much nicer than old.
