Android 4.4.3 is now available for Sony Xperia Z2. Not officially, of course, but if you want to install the latest Android version on your Xperia Z2 you can use of the first official CM11 nightlies.
The Sony Xperia Z2 runs a customized version of Android 4.4.2 out of the box, but some of you might want to enjoy an almost-stock Android experience. The folks at CyanogenMod have officially released the first CM11 nightlies for the Xperia Z2 (codenamed “sirius”) and, the good news is the build is based on Android 4.4.3.
Because these are the first CM11 nighties for Sony Xperia Z2 you should brace yourself for some serious bugs. I’m not trying to talk you out of flashing CM11 on your Xperia Z2, but I will warn you that users have reported broken camera and touchscreen bugs. If you think you can live with that, go ahead and download CM11 for Z2 from CyanogenMod’s page.
You should also know that you will first need to unlock your phone’s bootloader and root your Xperia Z2. You’ll also need a custom recovery. You know the drill: download CM11 for sirius from CyanogenMod’s download page, download KitKat GApps for custom ROMs from here, boot into recovery mode, flash the two ZIP files, perform a factory reset, and voila, your Xperia Z2 is now running CM11.
It’s also worth noting that rooting and installing custom ROMs on your Android device is still illegal in certain countries, so this might void your phone’s warranty.
