The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the HTC One has started rolling out on AT&T and T-Mobile already and users should receive it over-the-air any time now. The update has been approved on February 21 and it only took it three days to start rolling out on both networks.
Along with all the new features Android 4.4 KitKat comes with, this update also brings the HTC Sense 5.5, which includes some major improvements to the camera, gallery, BlinkFeed and much more. The HTC One should be smoother running on Android 4.4 KitKat, as there have been many improvements made to the operating system.
You will notice quite a few changes to your HTC after this update and we will try to summarize them for you:
- User interface improvements: New status and navigation bars, full screen mode, emoji support.
- Improved security
- Phone Dialer: The phone dialer app has been greatly improved and you can now search for contacts typing directly on the dial pad.
- Improved caller ID: Whenever you receive a call from a number not in your contacts list, Google will search for the number on local listings and Google Maps in order to let you know who is the caller.
- HTC BlinkFeed: The app can now be turned off, but it also has more features, like the faster way to switch between topics and content sources.
There might be other improvements we didn’t notice yet and we will update this article as soon as we find them. If you find anything else, please let us know.
If you haven’t received your update yet, you have to be patient, because it can take a while until it reaches anyone. We expect all AT&T and T-Mobile users to receive their by the end of the day. You should also make sure to have your WiFi turned on and you could also do a manual check for the update.
