Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, Accidentaly Confirmed By Google Employee
A while ago there were some rumors saying the codename of the next Android iteration will be Key Lime Pine and if Android 4.2 was also named Jelly Bean, well it seems that Android 5.0 would be the next name for Google’s mobile operating system. This time the confirmation comes from a Google employee, Manu Cornet.
He posted a doodle on Google Plus, where the green Android robot evolves from the first versions, Cupcake, Dounut and Eclair, to the latest Android versions, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, for it to eat in the last instance a mysterious green pie.
We are talking about Key Lime Pie and you can see the doodle reminds of the popular human evolution, from Ape to Homo Sapiens. You can see that the Android robot is fully erect since Ice Cream Sandwich, which is a sign that the operating system has reached its maturity, and I agree 100%.
Well, we don’t have any new details about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, except for the confirmed nickname.
Several terminals spotted in NenMark benchmark tests, a Samsung and a Sony smartphone, were running on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Rumor has it that as soon as Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie hits the market it will come with features that will allow it to run on notebooks, as well, so the Chrome OS and Android OS ecosystems will be unified.
