Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for HTC One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly S to Arrive March – May 2015

We first learned of Android L back in June, when Google introduced the new Android version during their annual I/O developer conference. Soon after, HTC announced that they will be bringing the new update on their HTC One M8 and One M7 flagships within 90 days after Google makes the final code available.

Now, Android 5.0 Lollipop is officially official, and even though the update hasn’t been yet released for the public, we have some details regarding HTC’s plans. According to a report by LlabTooFeR the Taiwan-based company will release the new update for many of their “older” smartphone and HTC One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly S are among them. According to the aforementioned source, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly S could arrive in the March – May time frame.

As expected, HTC’s Google Play Edition smartphones will be the first to receive the new update, sometime in November – December. If LlabTooFeR’s claims prove true, then the Sense HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 will be next in line, getting the update in January or February.

Unfortunately, the report doesn’t mention whether the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC devices will also bring a new Sense version. It does mention though that the Eye Experience suite will be patched in the new update, but that some of the features may be missing from older devices. Eye Experience selfie-centric software suite debuted on HTC Droid Eye and it arrives with features like Face Tracking, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Voice Selfie, Live Makeup, or Photo Booth.

Are you pleased that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will arrive on HTC One Max, One Mini, and Butterfly 2? What are your expectations for the new update? Please share your opinions in the comments section below.

How about the Droid DNA? Will it ever get 5.0?

Time to root. HTC one max won’t get lollipop till march-may? What the heck is going to make it take so long? You people need to start hiring developers that can get these updates to everyone sooner! You mention it and then expect us to wait a year for the updates! Heck, most of us will have a new phone by then! Get real HTC or get out of the business. Your almost as pitiful as Punit was with the MotoCrapola update for the bionic. One year and three months long on the first phone with a duel core that until we got the update never ran the two cores together! What a joke.
