A few days ago we were presenting you the first details about Oppo R809T, the terminal that is set to become the thinnest smartphone in the world. At that time we were even showing you the first leaked picture of the Oppo R809T.
Well, today we are returning with a new picture of the device, which is revealing the front panel of the smartphone that is only 6.13 mm thin.
If the name of Oppo rings a bell for you, learn that you probably heard of it when someone talked about the Finder, which was also one of the thinnest smartphones in the world, with a profile of only 6.65 mm.
The new comer, Oppo R809T has a design that is a reminiscent of the Oppo Finder 3, a handset that was officially launched last year.
According to the rumors the next thinnest smartphone in the world will boast a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and a quad-core MT6589 processor, 1 GB of RAM, plus 16 GB of internal storage.
The rumor mill also speculates about the price of the Oppo R809T: $403. The release date of the Oppo R809T is also a gossip subject, with sources saying that the thinnest smartphone in the world will hit the market on April 26th.
Each time I hear about a record-holding smartphone in terms of thinness, I expect the record to be gunned down pretty soon by companies like Alcatel or Huawei that will introduce a smartphone that is half a millimetre slimmer.
Where will this battle of the thinnest smartphones stop? Maybe at the 5 mm threshold? We’ll see in the coming years.
