Android Open Kang Project team has finally started to implement the official AOKP 4.4.4 Nightlies for various Android devices. More smartphones will receive support soon and if you’re a fan of custom ROMs then this is the way to get the latest Android version without waiting until your carrier pushes the stock OTA update.
With the new builds all the AOKP fans and users will receive bug fixes and tons of great features and functions that you can install right now without waiting for the official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update to arrive for your device.
At the moment the new AOKP 4.4.4 Nightlies are only available for three devices: the OPPO Find7a, Google Nexus 7 2013 LTE edition and for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini I9195. More smartphones should follow soon and you should keep an eye on the AOKP Devices web page.
In AOKP 4.4.4 Nightlies you will get the following changes: merged Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, heads up notifications, auto immersive mode, fullscreen keyboard disable function, NFC polling mode, CRT screen off animation, option to enable and disable menu unlock, multiple bug fixes, RomControl overlay, and others.
The Nightlies aren’t the most stable releases, so you should only use them as a testing base to see how your device responds when running the latest KitKat features. If you want to install one of these builds on your Nexus 7 LTE 2013, Galaxy S4 Mini LTE or OPPO Find7a then you can head to AOKP web page and get the latest zip. Make sure to download the Google Apps zip for Android 4.4.x ROMs and then simply use a custom Recovery to flash the new AOKP 4.4.4 Nightly on your phone or tablet.
