White ASUS Padfone 2 Spotted
ASUS decided to surprise its fans and the potential customers with a white version of Padfone 2, the smartphone that comes with a docking station and, when in need can be transformed into a tablet. ASUS Padfone 2 was unveiled simultaneously in Taipei and Milan in October 2012.
We have no official confirmation for the white variant of the ASUS Padfone 2. The only proof indicating that a white ASUS Padfone 2 will hit the market is the set of leaked pictures you can see in the gallery below. To be honest, it looks great and it’s visually impressive. I am fully confident that the hardware specifications are identical to the ones of the black ASUS Padfone 2.
I remind you that ASUS Padfone 2 comes with a 4.7-inch Super IPS+ display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, a pixel density of 312 ppi, and HCLR – fingerprint proof.
The smartphone is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset based on four Krait cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, helped by an Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. ASUS Padfone 2 features 16, 32, 64 GB of internal memory and ASUS Web storage in the cloud of up to 50 GB.
In terms of connectivity ASUS Padfone 2 comes with 4G / LTE, 3G with download speeds of up to 42 Mbps, WiFi a/b/g/n, dual-band, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC chip, microUSB, 3.5 mm audio jack and GPS + GLONASS.
It comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is scheduled to arrive sometime in November 2012.
The camera mounted on the back has a 13 megapixel sensor with BSI, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, full HD video recording at 30 fps or 720p video recording at 60 fps. The front-facing 1.2 megapixel camera comes with HD video recording support, making it ideal for video calls.
ASUS Padfone 2 has a 2,140 mAh battery, is 9 mm thick and weighs in 135 grams. When fitted into the Padfone station the hole device has a wight of 649 grams.
