ASUS Padfone Infinity was one of the most appreciated devices that debuted at MWC 2013, with tens of journalists and tech enthusiasts waiting in line at ASUS booth to see the new smartphone tablet hybrid. The metallic design, the high-end technical specifications and the significant upgrade from the previous generation, Padfone 2, might be enough to attract the potential customers. Well, the ASUS Padfone Infinity is now available for purchase in US.
A United States-based retailer is already offering the ASUS Padfone Infinity at a price of $950, which, of course, includes both the smartphone and the Padfone Station. On the European market the hybrid will have a price tag of €999, but I am sure that as soon as the ASUS Padfone Infinity will be on the market for two or three months, the price will receive a cut off, just like it happened with the previous generations.
I remind you that the ASUS Padfone Infinity comes with nano SIM slot, is 8.9mm thin, and weighs in 141 grams (only the smartphone).
The new Padfone Station comes with a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 5,000 mAh battery and a front-facing 1 megapixel camera. On the other hand the handset comes with a 5-inch Super IPS + LCD display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass protection.
The ASUS Padfone Infinity technical specs list also includes the already popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, with quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and a 13 megapixel camera with full HD video recording support, plus a front-facing 2 megapixel camera.
At the press conference held at MWC, where the ASUS Padfon Infinity saw the light of day, the ASUS Chairman, Jonney Shih said that the terminal will come pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Will the ASUS Padfone Infinity be your next Android device or is it too expensive?
