Many of us tend to forget quickly about past gadgets once new ones like the Samsung Galaxy S III are nearing their launch date. But then again, there are a lot of people out there who own one of the myriad of devices Samsung has sold under the name of Samsung Galaxy S II. Thanks to a recent leak from AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket users can rejoice, as it seems that the official Android 4.0 ICS update is not far from them.
While some of the unbranded Galaxy S II in Europe have already received the new ICS update, there are still a lot of other devices that have yet to be blessed by the Korean Manufacturer. This does not mean that leaked updates are to be taken lightly. This recent leak for the Skyrocket has all the features of the official update and while it may not be the final build it can surely qualify for day to day use.
This leaked ROM is of the 4.0.3 variety and features Samsung’s proprietary UI, TouchWiz in its latest incarnation. Unlike other manufacturers which have sticked to the stock Android 4.0.3, Samsung has decided to keep the line of its former devices and has made its launcher look almost the same regardless of the Android version it is running upon.
If we are to believe the guys from RootzWiki, the software is almost ready to ship, as it has very few bugs and all the apps are in their right places. The bugs that do exist however are minor, and can hardly interrupt any important task you might be doing on your ICS powered Skyrocket
All that is left now is to assume that Samsung and AT&T are still working at their maximum to provide users of past flagships with the latest pieces of software.
