Earlier this week, AT&T promised that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5 will become available for download for the HTC One X+ users. AT&T kept their word as the HTC One X+ Android 4.2.2 update is now rolling out.
It was also announced that the HTC One X+ will not get updated to Android 4.4 KitKat or even Android 4.3, therefore Android 4.2.2 is the end of the road for the Tegra 3-powered smartphone.
As usual, the Android 4.2.2 update for HTC One+ is being rolled out in phases, so you might not be able to download and install it right away. If you haven’t received the system update notification, you can also try your luck and perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > System update > Check for updates. Alternatively, you can download the Android 4.4.2 update from HTC’s support page and push it to your HTC One X+ through HTC Sync Manager.
Besides updating your operating system to Android 4.2.2, the new software update will also bring Sense 5.0 UI (with most of the goodies that debuted on the HTC One), along with fixes for NFC and AT&T Address Book. The version number of the new firmware is labelled 2.15.502.1.
It’s also worth noting that the Android 4.2.2 update for HTC One X+ has a size of over 650 MB, therefore it’s advisable to download it using a sable WiFi connection if you go for the OTA method.
