AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 Gets a CyanogenMod 9 Nightly Custom ROM
By now all of you should know what a Samsung Galaxy S2 is, but some of you not know what the Samsung i777 or Attain is. For the guys who are committed to AT&T this is the special version of the Galaxy S II Samsung designed for the US carrier. While the hardware underneath is the same as the one found in the international version, the device has only now received the CyanogenMod 9 custom ROM.
Unfortunately for the folks who would have ran straight to the computer to flash this CyanogenMod 9 ROM, we must warn you that is so far only a nightly ROM. This means that is still an ongoing project and as far as we know you should expect a fair share of bugs and not working applications as the ROM is still in early stages of development. This particular ROM was released just a couple of days ago and I sincerely doubt that all the bugs have been found.
In any case, this custom ROM is big news for Samsung Attain owners as it finally brings a fresh taste of vanilla ICS for their device. Word has it that a build with a fully Touch Wizz-ed interface was leaked just a couple of hours before the release of the CyanogenMod 9 nightly, so you might just come across two very interesting updates for your device.
At this time there is little time in presenting the feature of the CyanogenMod 9 as it is still not finished, but what we can certainly say is that it will bring a new breath of air for the people who enjoy running vanilla Android 4.0 ICS on their devices.
