Best Android Games of the Week: Baldur’s Gate, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and more

Easter is over and everyone is back on browsing the web for new Android video games to install on their smartphones and tablets.

Below you can find some of the Best Android video game titles that have been launched in the last few days. All the games shown below are available from Google’s Play Store, some being free to install while others will require you to pay a fair amount of money in order to be able to play them.

All titles are listed randomly and most of them are free to play, but note that you will also find games that are featuring the ‘in-app purchasing’ system that permits users to buy new features and functions aiding them in their quests to better the game faster than others. One of the most popular PC video games ever released has now made its way to Android. Baldur’s Gate was extremely popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as it tells a great story about a boy that had to leave the comfort of his home in search of the truth. Learn what is destroying the surroundings of your world and find a way to save everyone from extinction.

The game’s complete name is Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition, as you are in for more than fifty hours of continuous gameplay because of the new extensions added to the original game: Tales of the Sword Coast and The Black Pits. Besides the included expansions you can also choose to buy some other premium contents such as Brothers Lost, Neera and the Red Wizards, Path of the Bloodied and the Gallery of Heroes.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition is available for download at Google’s Play Store for $9.99. It might seem like a high amount to pay for a small Android game, but for fans of the original PC title it seems like a bargain. For you to be able to run the game on your phone / tablet you will have to run at least Android 3.0 OS.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – $4.99:

Gameloft continues to release titles that are based on upcoming movies. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie is about to be released and Android enthusiasts can embark in a new adventure to stop Venom, Green Goblin, Electro and all the other villains from taking over New York.

This is the official Android video game based on the world of The Amazing Spider-Man and after installing it you will be able to web-slinging, climbing walls and shoot webs all over New York in order to destroy all your enemies. The game is filled with unlockables such as Symbiote Spider-Man, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and the Iron Spider. The game is also featuring some 3d cinematic cutscenes that will make you think you’re in fact in a movie-like world.

A popular video game that was launched first in 1988. Now you can use Google’s Play Store in order to install it on your Android tablet and phone.

The game takes you to the dense jungles of South America in your quest to beat up all your enemies and stop them from taking over the world. Contra: Evolution video game tries to offer and revive the classic shooter feel everyone had when playing the original title.

You will get to control the famous Bill ‘Mad Dog’ Rizer and Lance ‘Scorpion’ Bean and you need to fight off all the aliens with a sole purposes of defeating evil and surviving all challenges thrown at you.

Choose whichever side you want, you will have the same amount of fun playing this game.

More than eighteen levels are available, visit planets like Geonosis, Hoth, Endor and Yavin, complete boss levels, collect points and studs in order to buy new super weapons, upgrades for your Microfigher or equipment, and more.

LEGO Star Wars Microfighters is filled with fun and you will surely have a great time playing it. It only costs $1 and it is free of any in-app purchase. Note that this game measures around 210MB and you might want to use the Wi-Fi connection for installation.

Triniti Interactive Ltd has released the Mini Warriors, a great 2D strategy game for your Android device. Gather your army and go on a mission to destroy all your enemies and complete all levels with three stars.

The world of Algers has been destroyed by a cruel war that had every single state fighting each other. You will have to create your own army of mini warriors and then start leading them with the sole purpose of uniting the entire Algers continent under one single ruler, so that all tribes will benefit from it. Up until managing to unite all of them you will need to go through more than two hundred different challenges, levels and more.

There is also an online mode that allows you to compete with other players worldwide. Top the leaderboards and become the best mini warrior.

A great puzzle video game that will have you control a millipede and help her become a pilot. Usually centipedes, or millipedes, as the game has us playing cannot pilot a plane, unless it gets into the local Aviation School.

In order to become a pilot you will need to solve puzzles and find your path while figuring out how to escape mazes, obstructions and seize the opportunity that you have in front of you. There are more than ninety different levels you have to go through in order to complete the game, use power-ups in order to finish levels easier, but make not to eat your tail.

Millie works with all Android 2.3 and newer OS versions. The game costs $0.99. The ‘in-app purchases system’ allows you to buy new power-ups and upgrades in order to finish the game much more easier.

15 Coins – Free

You might end up calling this game ‘the PacMan game without walls’, as you will have to collect fifteen coins before you get killed by your own clones.

The game allows you to control a small arrow-like ship by tilting and tapping its screen. If you crash into one of your own clones the game will be over and you will have to start all over again. This is a minimalistic 2D arcade game that provides tons of fun and a way to kill time while you’re travelling to work or school.

Collect power-ups and freeze the clones in order to destroy them, this will greatly improve your chances of collecting all 15 coins and finsih the game.

The game is free to play, it works with all 2.3 and later. It doesn’t feature any in-app purchases.

Flop Rocket – Free

The guys behind Roid Rage have done it again, the Flop Rocket game is nuts and you should really give it a test run.

You will be placed in an infinite cave system piloting a small rocket, control it and avoid hitting the rocks while at the same time collecting coins. Try and get as many coins as possible in order to get your hands on a better ship faster. Use the tiny fuel pads in order to refill your ship’s tank and do whatever you can in order to escape the Spaceducks… that’s right, there are ducks in space and you need to avoid them in order to score higher and get the highest score and top the leaderboard.

Flop Rocket works with all Android 2.1 and later versions. The game is free to play. You can use the in-app purchases in order to buy better ships.

LineUp! – free


A small puzzle game that you need to solve by finding the correct color sequence in the matrix. Score best by finding the correct colors faster with each try. There are tons of levels for you to choose from such as beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert.

Drag your finger across the screen in order to find the same sequence shown above the play area. Set the best scores and then compare them with your Facebook friends. LineUp! looks complicated but it is great after you play several levels. Tip: play three games at beginner level and then go straight to Expert, you will surely love the challenge.
