Black LG Optimus G Pro Is Official, Value Pack Update Available for Download

LG Optimus G Pro is the smartphone that will be in the front line of attack for the South Korea-based company in 2013. Most of the Mobile World Congress 2013 attendants showed a lot of interest for the LG Optimus G Pro and its 5.5-inch display. Over 500,000 Optimus G Pro units were already sold in South Korea, and we are also expecting the LG phablet to hit other markets as well. Anyway, the LG Optimus G Pro release date shouldn’t be too far.

As you probably know, the LG Optimus G Pro was only available in white livery, but now, the Asian phone maker has officially revealed the black variant of its tablet. On the official LG Mobile Facebook page it is mentioned that the LG Optimus G Pro will “come near you very soon.”

The Value Pack software update for LG Optimus G Pro has also started to roll out OTA. The software upgrade brings some of the features you will also find on Samsung’s newest flagship, the Galaxy S4. The Value Pack update for LG Optimus G Pro will bring Smart Video, Dual Camera Shooting, and Eye Control for pausing and resuming the video playback using nothing but your eyes. The Value Pack will also come with some camera improvements.

The LG Optimus G Pro arrives with a 5.5-inch True HD IPS+ display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a pixel density of 401 ppi, while being underpinned by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 SoC with four Krait 300 cores at 1.7 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. The smartphone also comes with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable using microSD cards (up to 64 GB supported), while the connectivity features include LTE,¬†Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot, bluetooth 4.0, NFC, infrared port, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack, GPS, and GLONASS.

LG Optimus G Pro boasts a 13 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, full HD video recording and VR Panorama (LG’s name for Photo Sphere), while the front facing camera is a 2.1 megapixel unit, also with support for 1080p video recording at 30 fps. It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and sports a 3,140 mAh battery while weighing 160 grams and being 9.4 mm thick.
