As almost all the US carriers made available the first Samsung Galaxy S4 firmware during the past few days, now it’s time for the Canadian users to receive the same. According to SamMobile, Samsung just released the first firmwares for the Canada Galaxy S4, the ROMs being now available through the KIES server.
Well, this can mean only one thing: starting from now, we can look forward in getting the first custom ROMs, as the third party devs will work on developing new updates for the S4. As you already know, the nightlies built of the CM10.1 platform has been already launched for the T-Mobile Galaxy S4, but now it will be raining in Jelly Bean based custom updates because each developer will bring its own software to us.
Anyway, the Canada Galaxy S4’s firmware is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes with Nature UX 2.0 installed on top of all. The firmware has the built model number of JDQ39 and can be anytime downloaded through Samsung KIES.
Therefore, if you need the stock OS, or if you want to install the same on your Galaxy S4 (for un-rooting, or for re-flashing the stock Android ROM on your smartphone) download the firmware and use Odin in order to apply the OS on your phone. Don’t forget to backup the data first as you might end up in losing all of your personal data and info. Stay close to us because we will bring a suitable guide that will take you through the update operation.
That was all for now; it seems like Samsung is moving fast when it comes to the S4 and I’m not talking only about its official firmwares. The S4 Zoom (Samsung’s first camera phone), Galaxy S4 Activ (which is the rugged version of the classic GS4) and Galaxy S4 Mini has been also confirmed with “soon to come” release dates (the S4 Mini and Activ will be launched on week 29 – July, while the S4 Zoom will be made available on week 23 – June).
