CyanogenMod team has finished work on the latest M-Snapshot build, the M9,and now it has been made available for more than 50 different Android models. The newest additions are the Sony Xperia Z2 and HTC One M8.
This build is based on the official stock Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but it also comes with tons of new tweaks and enhancements designed by the CyanogenMod guys. Check the new changes added in CM 11 M9 builds: themes support for extra UI components, Heads Up Notification bugs have been fixed, ‘doubletap’ support for sending phone to sleep while using secure keyboard, enhanced Torch app, tweaks for Safe Headset Volume, Center Clock support, Proximity Wake-Up enhanced, SPAM notification filter settings added, Settings Search support, bluetooth improvements, Email fixed, translations, account for Play Services induced wake-locks, Korean and Chinese support for Dialer, and more.
CyanogenMod 11.0 M9-Snapshot builds are available for tons of devices, but the latest ones to be added are the Sony Xperia Z2 ‘siriuys’, Sony Xperia Z2 tablet ‘castor’ and the HTC One ‘M8′. If you wish to install such custom KitKat 4.4.4 build on one of these devices, then you will first need to download the ROM file and Gapps. Move these files on your phone and then use the custom Recovery Mode to flash them for your device.
Note that these custom ROM builds are only available for devices that are rooted and running a custom Recovery such as TWRP or CWM.
Usually a custom ROM is a great way for you to test the stock Android 4.4.4 KitKat on devices that are still running older versions of Android. Besides all the stock features you can find numerous things that were added by the CyanogenMod team. The M9 Snapshot is a stable and reliable build, so you can use it on a daily basis and it is better than Nightlies.
