Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE XT897 was officially announced in July 2012. The smartphone was released in August 2012 and it was sold exclusively by Sprint.
Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE is 126.5 mm tall, 66 mm wide, and 13.7, while weighing in at 170.1 grams. The smartphone arrives with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and integrates a 4.3-inch TFT screen with 540 x 960 resolution, 256 ppi pixel density, scratch-resistant glass, and ColorBoost technology.
The smartphone is underpinned by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, paired with 1 GB of RAM. It has 8 GB of internal storage and microSD support up to 32 GB. It was released with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich on board and never got updated to a newer software version.
Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE has an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, and full HD video recording capabilities, while sporting a secondary camera with VGA resolution. In terms of connectivity, it arrives with LTE, HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and microUSB 2.0. The terminal is kept alive by a 1,785 mAH battery that should be capable of getting it through 7 and a half hours of talk time on a single charge.
