Galaxy Mega 5.8 is a mid-range phablet announced by Samsung in April 2013. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 was made available for purchase in select markets in May 2013.
Since we’re dealing with a phablet, Mega 5.8 packs a massive screen. It measures 5.8 inches diagonally, it has TFT technology, a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and a pixel density of 190 ppi. The handset is quite big, too, measuring 162.6 x 82.4 x 9 mm and having a weight of 182 grams.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is running Android 4.2.2 JellyBean out of the box, customized with Sammy’s proprietary TouchWiz UI. It packs a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of native storage, and support for microSD cards up to 64 GB.
The terminal integrates an 8 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, and 1080p@30fps video recording. In the front, you will be able to find a 1.9 MP user-facing camera.
On the connectivity features list you will be able to find options such as HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, GPS, and microUSB 2.0. Mega 5.8 is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
