Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is a rugged variant of Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2013. Of course, there are differences in terms of hardware between the S4 Active and the original S4. The device was announced in June 2013 and it was released on the market later the same month.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is dust and water resistant with IP67 rating, while sporting a 5.0-inch TFT display with Full HD resolution, 441 ppi pixel density, and Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It’s 139.7 mm tall, 71.3 mm wide, and 9.1 mm thin, while weighing in at 153 grams.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active comes pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it’s powered by a Snapdragon 600 chipset with quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, and support for microSD cards up to 64 GB.
The rugged terminal has an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, Aqua mode, and Full HD video recording, and a 2 MP user-facing camera. The connectivity features include LTE, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0.
