Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S was officially announced in August 2011. The device was released in select countries in September the same year.
The handset measures 125 x 63 xx 8.7 mm and has a weight of 117 grams. It integrates a LED-backlit LCD display sized 4.2 inches diagonally that sports a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and a pixel density of 233 ppi. The screen is protected by a scratch-resistant glass layer while integrating Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S was released with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread on board with Timescape UI and it was later on upgraded to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. The processing tasks are handled by a Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon chipset with single-core 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 205 GPU. The device also has 512 MB of RAM, 1 GB storage, and microSD support up to 32 GB.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S packs an 8 MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED Flash, and HD video recording, but it doesn’t come with a secondary shooter. In terms of connectivity it arrives with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0. The 1,500 mAh battery promises to get the device through up to 7 and a half hours of 3G talk time.
