Sony Xperia sola was officially announced in March 2012. Sony made the terminal available for purchase on select markets in May 2012.
Sony Xperia sola arrives with LED-backlit LCD display that measures 3.7 inches diagonally. It has 480 x 854 resolution, 265 ppi pixel density, scratch-resistant glass, and takes advantage of Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology. The device measures 116 x 59 x 9.9 mm and has a weight of 107 grams.
The smartphone is underpinned by a NovaThor U8500 SoC with two Cortex A9 cores clocked at 1 GHz and Mali 400 GPU. It comes pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it’s upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Sony Xperia sola has a 5 MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, and HD video recording support, while integrating connectivity features such as HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0.
The technical specifications list also include 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, and support for microSD cards up to 32 GB. It has a 1,320 mAh battery and it’s available in three color options: Black, White, and Red.
