Sony Xperia SP was officially announced by the Japanese phone maker in March 2013. The smartphone made its market debut in select countries sometime in April 2013.
Sony Xperia SP is equipped with a 4.6-inch TFT display with HD (720 x 1280) resolution, 319 ppi pixel density, Gorilla Glass protection, and Sony’s proprietary Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology. It was launched with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board and it’s upgradable to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The handset is 130.6 mm tall, 67.1 mm wide, 10 mm thin, and has a weight of 155 grams. In terms of connectivity it arrives with HSPA, LTE, WiFi, WiFi direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0.
Sony Xperia SP is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960T Snapdragon chipset with dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 320 GPU. It has 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage, and supports microSD cards up to 32 GB.
The terminal is kept alive by a 2,370 mAh battery. On the back there’s an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, HDR, sweep panorama, and Full HD video recording, while the front panel accommodates a secondary cam with VGA resolution.
