Because Sony also wants to activate on the mid-range smartphone segment, the company introduced the Xperia T2 Ultra in January 2014 at CES tech fair in Las Vegas. The smartphone was released on the market in May 2014.
It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box and it’s currently upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra has massive 6-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 resolution and a pixel density of 245 ppi. Because it has to accommodate such a large display, the device is quite big measuring 165.2 x 83.8 x 7.7 mm and weighing in at 172 grams.
Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is underpinned by a Snapdragon 400 SoC with quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 305 GPU. It also has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB native storage, and support for microSD cards up to 32 GB. On the back there’s a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, and Full HD video recording, while the front panel is equipped with a 1.1 MP secondary shooter.
The terminal arrives with connectivity features such as HSPA, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0. It’s kept alive by a 3,000 mAh battery.
