Samsung has released the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean JDQ39 firmware file for their latest Galaxy S4 I9500 device. In this post you will find the download link that you can in the future to restore your phone to its stock firmware.
JDQ39 is the latest firmware build based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and users who want to root their device and flash new custom ROM should download one copy of this file. It features the full Samsung Nature UX interface and all the Samsung-based S apps that your device is shipped. The Update is only available for the GT-I9500 model of Samsung Galaxy S4, the one sporting Exynos 5 Octa and this new firmware is available for China.
Developers will now be able to create new custom ROMs and kernels. These means that all Galaxy S4 tinkerers will be able to add new tools and apps that should enhance the performance of your device. You will be able to test ParanoidAndroid, AOKP, CyanogenMod, Omega and multiple other custom ROMs and files. This new firmware file of Android 4.2.2 JB is available for China for now, but we should get more countries supported in the next few weeks. This firmware will not work with the I9505 variant of Galaxy S4 and, if you own that one then you will have to wait until Samsung releases the I9505JDQ39 firmware files.
