Google has released the Google Now Launcher on the Play Store, but it’s only available for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices, unfortunately. But if you want to use it on your Android device, then you can download the APK from our article and install it directly.
During our tests we noticed that it might only work on Android 4.4 KitKat, but you can still try it on an older version, because we are not very sure it doesn’t work yet.
We’ve tried the Google Now Launcher 1.0.9 APK on multiple Android devices and while most of it works, the search feature seems to be broken. We didn’t manage to find any smartphone except for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices where the voice and search features work, unfortunately. But we still hope developers will play with the app and make it work on all smartphones.
In order to install the Google Now Launcher 1.0.9 APK, you will first have to download it by using the link below. Then head over to Settings > Security and check Unknown Sources. Once you allow your device to install apps from third-party sources, go to Downloads and tap the APK to install it. Then you should go back to the security settings and disable Unknown Source due to security concerns.
