Unreleased ES File Explorer v3 Update Will Bring Holo UI and More

ES File Explorer

For the time being, there is only a handful of file manager apps for Android that are capable of withstand ES File Explorer when it comes to functionality and features. ES File Explorer is not just an excellent file manager, but also one of the most popular applications in Android history when it comes to number of downloads.

Just like many of you, including those who tried ES File Explorer app at least once, I was using the popular file browser quite often myself. It was a good tool and it satisfied all my needs, including the advanced ones (root and stuff). After a while a certain aspect made me ditch ES File Explorer for another one (I won’t give you it’s name, but let’s call it Astro File Manager), the user interface.

I just can’t find it right for the developers of a popular app like ES File Explorer not to try to change the interface. There are 2 (or 3 if it is to count Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean) Android versions rolled out since ES File Explorer’s design wasn’t changed.

But as of today, the ES File Explorer developers have decided to let the users try a beta version of the new design (ES File Explorer v3), which seems to be very stable, and which brings some welcomed UI changes.

The new ES File Explorer v3 brings the Holo UI, up to date with the latest trends, and support for themes. Moreover, the application provides the same features that made it so popular, including root access, cloud storage, including Dropbox, Drive, Ubuntu One, Box, and other, plus access to LAN/FTP networks.
