Flash leaked Android 4.3 XXUEMI8 Jelly Bean Update for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505

The first Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware for Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 has been leaked and, you can use this tutorial in case you want to update your device. Read the entire post and remember that this is not an official release by Samsung.

XXUEMI8 Android 4.3 test build is stock Samsung ROM but it isn’t the final form of this stock ROM, as Samsung is expected to launch the official Android 4.3 JB OTA Update soon. If you want to successfully flash this leaked Jelly Bean build, then you should first look at the preparation guide below:

  • Use this post only for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE model number I9505.
  • Don’t attempt to update any other devices with the files you find here.
  • If your device is rooted, then by installing this test Android 4.3 stock build you will lose root.
  • Installing this test build won’t increase the binary counter nor void your Galaxy S4 LTE warranty.
  • Make sure that your computer has the Samsung USB Drivers installed. Download from here.
  • Disable Samsung KIES software from running on your computer.
  • Disable any antivirus applications.
  • It is highly recommended for you to create backups for all the files that are currently stored on your device.
  • If your phone is rooted, it features a custom recovery or a custom ROM, then all these will be removed by the new test firmware in the process.
  • Make sure that your phone has enough power left in its battery before continuing to the tutorial. The battery charge level needs to be over 50%.
  • If you cannot complete the installation, then you can ask for more help in comments.
  • Note that we cannot be blamed in case you brick your device or you lose any important data in the process.

How to flash Android 4.3 XXUEMI8 Test Stock ROM for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505:

  1. Download the I9505XXUEMI8 zip file from here.
  2. Extract the test firmware files and place all four files in a single folder that should be saved on your desktop.
  3. Download Odin3 v3.09 from here.
  4. Power off your smartphone now.
  5. Boot the Galaxy S4 I9505 into Android Download Mode.
    – if you don’t know how to boot Download Mode, then use the info listed here to learn.
  6. Launch Odin executable on your computer.
  7. Use the USB Data Cable and connect your smartphone with your PC.
    – wait for ODIN to recognize your Galaxy S4 device.
    – if the phone is not detected by the app, then you should re-install the USB drivers or plug the USB cable in another USB port.
  8. Now, click the AP button in ODIN and load this file: AP_I9505XXUEMI8_1715731_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
  9. Click BL button in Odin and load the following file: BL_I9505XXUEMI8_1715731_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
  10. Click CP button in Odin, load this file: CP_I9505XXUEMI8_1715731_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
  11. Click CSC button in Odin, load the following file: CSC_OXA_I9505OXAEMI8_1715731_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
  12. Disable the ‘Re-Partition’ option. If it is enabled, then you should un-tick its box.
    – don’t change any other default Odin settings.
  13. Now you can click the Start button in order to begin the installation of Android 4.3 XXUEMI8 test firmware for your Galaxy S4 LTE.
    – this process will take several minutes to complete, so you should sit back and relax until all files are flashed.
  14. When the ROM is installed the phone will reboot in normal mode and you can unplug it from your computer after the Samsung Boot animation screen appears.

These were all the steps that you had to take in order to complete the guide.

In case Odin freezes or the installation doesn’t complete at your first attempt, then you should power off the phone completely by removing its battery. Re-insert the battery and then repeat the entire tutorial once again without skipping any steps. If you’re still having problems with the install process, ask for more help in comments.

In case Odin says that the installation was complete but the phone enters into a boot loop or it doesn’t go past the Samsung boot animation or it shows Force Closing errors while in normal mode, then you will need to apply a factory reset from Recovery mode. This process removed all data from system partition, which means that you will lose installed apps, SMS and other similar files, but it will force the phone to boot in normal mode.

Here’s how to apply a factory reset for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 on Android 4.3 XXUEMI8 test firmware:

  • Power off the device completely.
  • Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
  • Release the button when the stock Recovery Mode screen appears.
  • Select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’. Confirm the process.
  • Select ‘reboot system now’ when done and wait for the device to boot into normal mode.
  • Enter your Google Account details in order to take control over your smartphone.

I hope that you’ve managed to update your device and that now you’re running the first test stock Android 4.3 build on your SGS4 LTE. If you have any other questions, then you should ask for more help in comments.
