After T-Mobile said that it will make the Samsung Galaxy S4 available as of May 1, it’s time for another US carrier to make an important announcement. The second largest mobile operator AT&T has just announced that it will be offering the Galaxy S4 for pre-order starting April 16. Actually, AT&T is the first network to provide the Galaxy S4 pre-order details with pricing and all.
AT&T will offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a two-year plan at a price of $249.99 with the customers being able to place their pre-orders starting on April 16. The carrier mentions that it’s happy to continue being the first mobile network to release the devices of the Galaxy line, and the Galaxy S4 will cost $249.99 with a two-year contract.
What AT&T doesn’t mention is whether both White Frost and Black Mist color versions of the smartphone will be ready for pre-order at the beginning, or just one of them. As for the on-board storage space, we expect that AT&T will firstly stock just the 16 GB version because it has listed only one pricing option.
When it comes to the processor, I think that the US consumers have already made their peace with the fact that they will be getting the Snapdragon 600 Galaxy S4 in order to be compatible with the 4G LTE service offered by AT&T.
Unfortunately, the carrier doesn’t sat when the Galaxy S4 will start shipping, but we expect that it will be at least two weeks after the madness starts. I think that all the carriers will try to be the first that ships the Galaxy S4. Comparing the AT&T price with the one listed on T-Mobile, T-Mobile offers the Galaxy S4 for only $99 without a contract, but the customers will have to pay monthly installments.
Apart from these two, we expect that all major carriers will announce the Samsung Galaxy S4 such as Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular and Cricket, and surely that will make all the details available in the following days.
In the meantime, the Galaxy S4 is already available for pre-order in the UK with most UK carriers already offering it. The British will get the Snapdragon 600 Galaxy S4, as well.
Which carrier will you choose?
