The Samsung officials stated that the Galaxy S4 will be launched all over the world at the end of this month. We already know that it will be available in the United States, with AT&T offering it for sale it its retail stores as of April 27, but the flagship is heading ti India as well, having the release date set for April 26.
The company will hold a launching event in India for which it has already sent out invites to the media, according to bgr.in. The Galaxy S4 was announced in March in the Big Apple and it looks like the Indian citizens will be among the first people to get the opportunity to purchase the smartphone.
Even though previous reports have claimed that the release date of the Galaxy S4 in India would be April 25, it looks like the event will be delayed until April 26. Comparing to the earlier reports, this one comes from the company itself so there is no doubt that the Indian version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be launched on Friday. We’re not sure if the device will be available for purchase in the same day because Samsung usually makes its product available for the general public a few days after the press event.
If you did not already know, the Galaxy S4 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080, a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP read-facing one. Also, it packs 2 GB RAM and 16/32/64 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via microSD card. Most shipped Galaxy S4 units are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, but we expect that the Indian market will receive the version underpinned by the Exynos 5 Octa CPU.
As for the operating system, the Galaxy S4 will come running the latest iteration of Google’s OS, namely Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean that will include all the popular features such as Google Now integration, Project Butter for enhanced performance, expandable notifications and other improvements. Furthermore, we expect that the Galaxy S4 will be updated from Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie in the following months, after Google launches its new version of Android.
In terms of pricing, we still don’t know how much the Galaxy S4 will cost in India as the company hasn’t offered any official details about the matter, but previous rumors suggested that the device will be sold for around Rs 40,000. When we’ll have all the information we’ll let you know. Until then, stay tuned!
