Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year and it’s expected to debut later this month at Unpacked 5 event held in Barcelona. While the reports that made the headlines over the past few weeks painted an almost complete image of the Galaxy S5, a new teaser (which is also the first S5 teaser) coming form O2 Germany hints that Sammy’s next-gen flagship will have a water proof case.
Even though O2 Germany’s teaser doesn’t reveal any details about the smartphone, it hints at a “Samsung that can do more,” and shows a smartphone that’s emerged into water. Of course, it could as well be a random image, but I want to believe that the folks at O2 know more about the S5 than we do.
As I was mentioning above, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to see the light of day at Unpacked 5, an event that will be held on February 24 at MWC 2014 and live streamed on Samsung’s Youtube channel.
Let’s have a look at what we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy S5. The rumor mill speculates that the Korean company will launch the handset in two body variants: one made of metal and the other, which will be cheaper, made of plastic. It seems that the premium Galaxy S5 will sport a 5.25-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution, while the plastic Galaxy S5 will come with a 5.25-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display.
Sources in the industry say that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat-powered smartphone will feature octo-core Exynos 6/quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, and a 16 MP primary camera with support for 4K video recording. In order to compete against Apple’s iPhone 5S, the GS5 will arrive with a fingerprint sensor. Unconfirmed reports have suggested that the fingerprint sensor might be integrated in the handset’s display.
What are your expectations for the Samsung Galaxy S5? Are you looking forward towards any particular features?
