Google Nexus 4 Price Drops by $100 in Google Play Store

Google has announced that they’ve lowered the price of the Nexus 4 with $100. This offer is available only from their Google Play Store. Also, users who purchased the device after 12 August will get their¬†difference refunded.

This announcement should help Google boost the N4 sales while also allowing Android enthusiasts use the latest AOSP Jelly Bean 4.3 operating system. So, if you’re disappointed in Samsung’s Galaxy S4 TouchWiz, Sony’s Xperia UI or HTC’s Sense 5.0 experience, then the N4 default OS should prove to be a refreshing switch.

Despite the fact that the Nexus 4 has been launched last year and numerous new Samsung, HTC or SONY devices were launched since then, it still remain a fantastic Android smartphone and it continues to sell big. This change of price might also be explained about the fact that in the next few months Google should announce the launch of Nexus 5 with Android 5.0 OS hopefully.

Google Nexus 4 is one of the first devices along with Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 to receive the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OTA updates. This is one of the main selling point for the N4 device, as the other companies will wait months before releasing such OTA Updates for their devices. Most users are opting to buy the Nexus 4 because it runs the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean AOSP variant and it is completely bloatware-free.

Another great thing about buying the Nexus 4 from Google’s Play Store is that you will get it without contract at a price that you is usually featured on devices that are coming with two-year contracts. Besides the $199 / $249 price tag you will still need to pay for the shipment too. The shipping is expected to be complete in 1-2 business days.

The $100 price cut is available in the United States only, while the Australian, Canadian, UK, Spanish, Korean and German Play Store will see a 25% price drop, as confirmed by Google Play’s official Twitter account.
