The Google Nexus 7 was expected to hit India’s stores in October, but Asus has just announced that it will be released in November. Unfortunately no exact release date has been given for Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, though we can only hope it will be early November.
India is a huge market for Android devices and keeps growing very fast, so it’s targeted by most phone makers. Also the Google Nexus 7 is one of the most popular tablets, along with Apple’s iPad and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
Pricing hasn’t also been confirmed yet, though we expect it will be around $230 for the 8GB version and $280 for the 16GB one, though the 16GB is currently not available, as Google pulled it out from the Play Store.
The Google Nexus 7 is one of the most powerful tablets around, featuring a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 7-inch display. It also comes with stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which means it gets updated very fast to new Android versions and it also offers a pure Android experience.
Unfortunately the device doesn’t support 3G and microSD cards, though an improved version is expected to be released by the end of the year. We might see two new Google Nexus tablet versions, a 7-inch and a 10-inch one, both supporting 3G, though they will most definitely be pricier.
The Google Nexus 7 also has a big competitor now, coming from Amazon. The Kindle Fire 2012 and Kindle Fire HD tablets come in more versions and can fulfill everyone’s needs, though prices also vary, depending on size and connectivity, which varies from WiFi only to 3G and even 4G.
