Use the instructions that I’ve listed in this guide and you will learn how to successfully boot your HTC One X device in Bootloader (Fastboot) Mode.
Fastboot or Bootloader Mode is a hidden menu of your HTC One X operating system, one that allows you to apply various changes for your phone such as installing new updates, new ROMs, custom Recoveries, wipe data, format system and more.
A Fastboot Mode is normally used by advanced users who want to tinker with their phone’s OS and features. Remember that you are the sole responsible for any damage done to your HTC One X while using Fastboot mode.
Remember that in case you try to use Fastboot Mode and unlock the Bootloader, then you will lose all data that is stored on your phone. Use Helium for Android if you wish to backup some important files.
If you want to use the Fastboot / Bootloader mode and you don’t know how to boot it, then you can follow all the info listed in this post.
How to Enter Fastboot Mode for HTC One X:
- Switch off your device completely.
- Now, press and hold Volume Down button and Power.
- After the phone switches on you need to release Power, don’t release Volume Down.
- Next, press Power once again to boot in Fastboot Mode.
That’s it, these were all the steps that you had to take. From now on you should easily be able to boot fastboot / bootloader mode for the HTC One X smartphone.
Note that these steps might be tricky to complete at the first attempt, which is why it would be best for you to repeat them until you get the whole fastboot mode boot figured out.
If you have any other questions regarding the tutorial, then you can post them in comments.
Note that in case you’re planning to unlock your phone’s bootloader you should know that the entire device will get completely wiped in the process. Every time you unlock bootloader for any Android device you will end up losing all data that is stored on it, so you should only do it in case you have backups for all important files.
