HTC 603e Gets Certification for the Chinese Market
When HTC rumors appear about a new device being planned for regions like Europe and North America, most of them are about high-end phones, like the HTC M7. However, the emerging markets are important for the company, as well. One of these markets is the Chinese one. It seems like HTC will release its latest handset there. The phone carries the model number 603e, which is said to make a big impact. The HTC 603e is meant to be a mid-range smartphone having a HVGA that measures 4.3 inches, 1GB of RAM and 1.15 dual-core processor. The device was has been spotted by local outlet TENAA on the Chinese telecom equipment certification database.
We can also mention that the HTC 603e will wight 130 grams and have 9.8 in thickness. Also, it will feature a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 2 megapixel one in the back. I know that none these specs will impress you. The only thing that might get your attention is the fact that the 603e will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so there is something up-to-date about it. Then again, we are talking about a mid-range phone here.
The looks of the HTC 603e can, and probably be interesting for the people leaving in the West, as well. In my opinion, the device looks quite similar to the HTC M7 featured in the reportedly leaked images. I’m talking about the large earpiece and the standing out camera in the front. Also, the back has an angled curve, just like the device that HTC CEO Peter Chou was showing off at an internal event which recently took place. Even if the HTC 603e won’t hit the markets outside of China, the design of the phone may be implemented by the company on the future devices.
The smartphone has not been officially announced, so details about a release date, pricing and even its name are not available yet. However, it might be possible for HTC to tell us something about it at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
