We have news that will definitely make some Sprint customers happy, coming from HTC. The EVO 4G LTE is now available for pre-order and it’s priced at $199 with a two-year contract. The pre-order page has been up for a while on Sprint’s website, though ordering was not possible until now.
For those who don’t know, the HTC EVO 4G LTE is Sprint’s version of the HTC One X, though there are some small differences between them. The EVO 4G LTE comes with a 2,000 mAh battery, a microSD card slot and an integrated kickstand, while the HTC One X lacks the latter and features a 1,800 mAh battery.
Currently HTC EVO 4G LTE is one of the most powerful smartphones around, competing directly with the Samsung Galaxy S3. It features a dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 8MP 1080p primary camera and a 1.3MP frontal one, 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Along with these, it comes with Sense 4 running over Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
While Sprint hasn’t reported any official release date, rumors suggest May 18th to be the happy day and it might be true, considering that AT&T has already released the HTC One X.
The new Evo 4G LTE will come as a great addition to Sprint’s upcoming 4G LTE network, which is planned to launch in Atlanta, Baltimore, Kansas City, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston in mid 2012.
