HTC Launches One M9+ Prime Camera Edition on the Indian Market

HTC launched its new flagship device in April with the hope that this time around it will be able to fight off the Galaxy S7 and the LG G5. The smartphone is yet to become available in some regions ans yesterday it was released on the Indian market, alongside two mid-tier handsets. With this in mind, it looks like the company will introduce a new smartphone in the near future in India. To be more specific, the terminal will is named HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition, and it won’t be a premium phone as its name might suggest, but a mid-ranger.

This is not the first time we’ve heard about the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition because the company had already launched a while ago in Germany. Now, it seems that the Indian customers will get it as well. The device has been already listed on the manufacturer’s official store in India, and even though we don’t know when will it become available, it’s listed as coming soon. As mentioned before, the HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition doesn’t exactly offer the best specs on the market, but it comes with decent hardware. It is sporting a Full HD panel with a diagonal of 5.2 inches and a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080. In terms of memory, the phone will provide 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

The smartphone is powered by a Helio X10 octa-core CPU, and will be kept alive by a 2,840 mAh battery. The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition will feature a 13 MP snapper located on its back side, while on the front you will find a camera with f/2.0 aperture, 2-micron pixels and a 26.8mm lens. Unfortunately, the operating system is kind of a letdown as the smartphone will only run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, which will be tweaked with the company’s Sense user interface. The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition comes along with HTC’s old BoomSound system, and a fingerprint scanning sensor which can be found underneath the screen, which can also be used as a physical home button.

The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition is not very different from the The HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition when it comes to technical specs, but the overall look is not the same. The HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition is identical to the HTC One M9 appearance. The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition on the other hand, looks like the HTC One M9+, with the difference that it has the additional psychical home button.

Anyway, the The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition will be available in three color options, namely Gunmetal Grey, Silver, and Gold and will be sold in exchange for Rs. 23,990 ($358). Apart from the company’s official store, it seems that the Indians will be able to buy the device from retailer Mahesh Telecom as well.
